You will be picked up from the airport by a Phonex Expeditions Africa representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Arusha, where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come.

In the morning after breakfast, you will be picked up from your Arusha lodge by our personal driver guide. We set out for Tarangire National Park on a good tarmac road across gentle rolling Maasai plains with scattered acacia trees. As we zip along, we pass many Maasai in their colorful dress walking on the roadside, riding bicycles, herding cattle, and riding donkey carts. Tarangire National Park, well known for its large elephant herds, is also host to a multitude of creatures. From the open roof of our state-of-the-art safari jeep, we experience the seasonal swamp, savanna, and life-giving Tarangire River, endeavoring to encounter a multitude of creatures, from wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, elephants, and giraffes, to name but a few. It is possible we will glimpse a lion stalking prey or a leopard watching, relaxing in the trees above.

After a full day in the park, we will drive to the excellently appointed lodge, where we will enjoy dinner in the aesthetically delightful restaurant, relax, and spend the night in her capacious rooms.

Rise and shine! It is an early departure to the lush highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once you have reached the crater rim, you will drive down a steep track into the 600-meter-deep caldera to see a range of animals and birds. The caldera (collapsed volcano) is home to over 25,000 mammals ranging from the "Big Five" ( Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino & Buffalo.) And more than 500 species of birds.

After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch in the crater, you will return to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early evening.
